For the ultimate iconic Dining Room chair look no further than the Emeco Navy Side Chair. The chair was commissioned by the U.S. Navy in 1944 for use on warships. They required the chair to withstand a torpedo blast - something Emeco founder Bud Dinges proved when he threw the chair out of a sixth story window and it survived the fall undamaged.
